A modern take on a classic role reversal film, with a topical, modern, current affair subject matter. Stella performances from a perfectly pitched cast, impartially Maguire (redeemed after his spandex outings). Portman is unselfish with her role, bowing down and letting the story do the work instead of slipping into what could quiet easily be a very irritating character. Gyllenhala is utterly convincing in his wayward yet loveable ‘uncle’ role, in an uncharacteristic turn of pace. And yet all these great performances are put to task by the eldest daughter of the family who is absolutely astonishing. Brilliant!
